Around Hazlemere Parish

Hazlemere Open Spaces

This aerial photograph (courtesy ©Google Maps) shows the main open spaces Hazlemere Parish Council is responsible for. The Amersham Road, shown in yellow,  divides the village north and south, The recreation ground, site of the Ken Williams Memorial Pavilion, is seen on the left of the picture with the tennis courts at the southerly end of the grounds close to the Amersham Road.

On the top right of the picture the large open space of Queensway, with it's allotments, can be seen. There are plans for a modest increase in the number of allotments at Queensway, with the remainder of this open space being given over to community recreational use - watch this space for more news soon!

On the bottom right of the picture the Rose Avenue Recreational Ground can be seen, next to the Sir William Ramsay School. This open space has a children's play area, a championship sized basketball Court and is planned to be the site for the Holy trinity Junior Football side to play for the next season, as part of the complex plans to relocate Wycombe Croquet Club to the Amersham Road Recreational Ground. There is still much work to be done before this plan can be completed, so please check back on this page soon for more news.

Rose Avenue Recreation Area

Hazlemere Parish Council is responsible for the large open space recreation ground at Rose Avenue, which features a children's Play Area & Basketball Court

Ken Williams Memorial Pavilion

Hazlemere Parish Council has recently invested over half a million pounds rebuilding the Pavilion at the Amersham Road Recreation Ground. The Pavilion was christened "The Ken Williams Memorial Pavilion

Hazlemere Scout Headquarters and Hazlemere Gardening Club, Cedar Barn

The 11th High Wycombe (Hazlemere) Scout Troop meet at the Scout Headquarters behind the main Cedar Barn, which forms part of the Cedar Barn Complex . The Hazlemere Gardening Club are also located in the Cedar Barn Complex

The Dell Allotments

Hazlemere Parish Council is also responsible for the allocation and management of the 14 plots at The Dell, alongside the council's Cedar Barn headquarters

 

Queensway Allotments.

The Parish Council is also responsible for 30 allotments at Queensway

***BEST ALLOTMENT COMPETITION***

Judging took place in July to find  the "Best Allotment". The winner of the 2011 "Best Allotment Competition" was Mr Zivan Levajack, who received his Winner's Trophy at the October Full-Council meeting. The trophy was engraved with Mr Levajack's name and will be held by him for the next year - until next year's winner is decided!
